Glasgow, UK, 24 February 2026 – Pelion has been named a finalist at the prestigious Mobile News Awards 2026, shortlisted in both the MVNO and eSIM Innovation & Deployment categories.
The recognition highlights Pelion’s position as a purpose-built IoT MVNO and its continued innovation in enterprise eSIM connectivity.
Pelion is one of only two IoT-native MVNO shortlisted in the category: a significant distinction in a field traditionally dominated by consumer-focused providers.
Unlike MVNOs that evolved from consumer mobile services, Pelion was built specifically for IoT.
Today, the company manages close to two million connected devices across more than 1,000 enterprises, delivering multi-network global connectivity designed for long device lifecycles and mission-critical deployments.
Pelion’s core proposition centres on four pillars: connectivity, reliability, security and expertise.
Customers benefit from access to 600+ global networks through a single multi-network IoT SIM, one contract, one platform and specialist 24/7 support.
Its commercial innovation, Pelion Plans, has also reshaped how IoT connectivity is bought – introducing transparent pricing, flexible bundles and a clear pricing calculator to eliminate bill shock and reduce procurement friction.
Pelion has also been recognised for its Consumer eSIM for IoT offering: a service that re-engineers consumer eSIM technology for enterprise-scale IoT deployments.
As tablets, laptops and embedded devices increasingly ship eSIM-only, many organisations faced a gap between consumer connectivity models and enterprise IoT requirements.
Pelion addressed this by integrating GSMA SGP.22 consumer eSIM standards into its existing IoT connectivity infrastructure.
The result is a centrally managed, enterprise-grade connectivity solution for eSIM-only consumer hardware, providing:
Multi-network global coverage without lock-in
Digital, remote provisioning via QR code or MDM
Centralised lifecycle management through the Pelion Portal
IoT-grade security and operational control
By removing physical SIM logistics and enabling bulk digital provisioning, Consumer eSIM for IoT significantly reduces operational overhead while improving activation speed and service continuity.
The Mobile News Awards are among the most respected accolades in the industry, celebrating innovation, performance and leadership across the sector.
Winners will be announced on 19 March 2026 at the awards ceremony at London Hilton on Park Lane.
Commenting on the shortlisting, Pelion CEO Dave Weidner said:
“Being recognised in both MVNO and eSIM Innovation categories reflects the work our team has done to build connectivity specifically for IoT, not adapt consumer models to fit it. As device hardware evolves and deployments scale globally, enterprises need reliability, flexibility and transparency. That’s exactly what Pelion is built to deliver.”
With IoT deployments growing in scale and complexity, Pelion’s dual finalist recognition reinforces its role in shaping the next phase of global, enterprise-grade connectivity.
